Gateway Friends

Gateway Friends aims to build bridges between New Mainers and long term residents to reduce anti-immigrant bias and prejudice and provide a platform for healthy integration. Volunteers are matched with refugee families and individuals to offer support, friendship, and connection.  Volunteers also help organize community events to build community among our refugee clients, many of whom are isolated and lonely.

Drop-In

After-school homework support to help refugee children and adolescents excel in school

Support for All

Mental health counseling and case management offered free of charge to uninsured clients, including asylum seekers and undocumented immigrants.

Lift

Peer support groups, social activities, and sports offered as alternatives for youth at risk of substance abuse, gang membership, radicalization, and homelessness.
