“I am honored to have been chosen as the employee of the month for December!
Since coming to Gateway four years ago I have enjoyed the opportunity to support and learn about
individuals from many diverse cultures. I first worked as a case manager for approximately three years.
Currently, I appreciate supervising and working with case managers tasked with coordinating necessary
services to assist successful management of client mental and physical health in daily living. Additionally,
I enjoy teaching new case managers about the tools necessary to begin working with children and adults
here are Gateway. The supportive and welcoming environment at Gateway allows important teamwork
on behalf of clients.”

“I am humbled and honored to receive this recognition. Serving clients on behalf of Gateway has been a phenomenal experience for me. Gateway has provided me with the opportunity to blossom into an evidenced based clinical therapist and receive the necessary supervision and insight to provide  ethical and person centered services that reflect my character, individuality, and sense of humor. I truly cannot say enough about the patience and steadfast presence of our entire supervision and administrative team. Some of my most enjoyable moments have been collaborations with the case management team. Often times I find myself learning from the car management team and leaning on their unique expertise to better support our clients.  Similarly, I’ve been able to develop individual relationships with the clinical staff & nonprofit staff  who are always ready and available to provide exceptional clinical insight or help problem solve on behalf of our most marginalized clients. Since being at Gateway I have seen these acts of selflessness and an abundance of individuals invested in the well-being of our clients, our agency, and each other. Whether sharing  jokes at the front desk with staff at the Lewiston & Portland Offices or supporting clients in critical situations, I always feel a sincere connection to colleagues.  

As a black male Clinician and Social Worker, the mission, vision, and values of Gateway align with where I am and where I want to be culturally and professionally. More so, the same written mission, vision, and values are embodied  by the staff at the agency and the nonprofit on a daily basis. Gateway has given me the opportunity to have family and work life balance as well as the opportunity to exercise appropriate self-care in the presence of patient and devoted coworkers. For that, I am exceptionally grateful.”

“Hey everyone! I’m super thrilled and grateful to be named Employee of the Month. I started with Gateway Community Service July of this year, with this being a completely new role, it’s been an interesting work in progress. But it’s such an honor to receive this award and it wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing support from my team. Thank you all for your guidance, encouragement, and teamwork. I truly appreciate being a part of such a fantastic team. Let’s keep rocking it together!”

“So about my little experience here at Gateway during the 3 months of work I have already done, I have a very good collaboration with my team and the work is going very well. It’s not easy to find clients to join the program but I try to work as hard as I can to achieve the goal. And with some strategies I’ve put in place to persuade them, I think it’s working well.”

Kristine May – Outpatient Clinician

 ”I love working at Gateway and working through the challenge of providing clinical support through an interpreter, and meeting the unique needs of the families we serve.  I love the families that allow me into their homes, week after week, sharing their lives and their experiences.  
As an artist and photographer, I love using creativity through art therapy and journal writing, to help my clients express themselves.  I am a better clinician through my experiences at Gateway.”
